How to start the conversation
Whether you’re worried about someone else or want to open up about your own mental health, knowing how to start the conversation can be difficult.
You don’t need the perfect words or to have everything figured out. Sometimes simply saying “I’m struggling”, or letting someone know “I’ve noticed you don’t seem yourself lately”, can be enough to open the door.
We’ll help you find the words, break the ice and start a conversation that could really matter.
Not sure if you are in crisis?
You don't have to decide if it's "bad enough"
You don’t have to wait until things feel unbearable before asking for help. No problem is too small, and you don’t have to prove that you’re struggling “enough” to deserve support. Sometimes we all need someone to listen, a little reassurance, or some help making sense of what we’re feeling. Speaking out can be the first step towards things feeling a little more manageable.

We're here to make talking about mental health normal.
Tough Enough To Care was born from loss, but built on the belief that things can be different.
We exist to break down the stigma surrounding mental health, particularly in the places where talking about how you feel hasn’t always come easily. From workplaces and rugby clubs to community groups and kitchen tables, we’re helping create spaces where honest conversations can happen.
We’re not about labels, judgement or telling people how they should feel.
We’re about people supporting people. Conversations that matter. And making sure nobody feels they have to struggle alone.
